From age two, Ava and her father Frank have been recreating costumes from old Hollywood movies, spanning from The Wizard of Oz to Gentleman Prefer Blonds, Evita to Casablanca, Grease to All About Eve. It became a family tradition, recognized in local newspapers, for the intricate and deliberate dedication to detail.

The process would begin as soon as the last Halloween was finished. They would choose a movie, watch it together, and soon after he would begin the process. They didn't own a sewing machine so everything was made by hand, fabric and jewelry. As Ava got older, she would take on the hair and makeup portion of the costumes.

It has been one of their greatest triumphs together, along with some of the happiest memories.
